  1. Supreme Court vacancies and appointments also are major issues for Presidential candidates:

“Americans are probably paying much more attention to the economy than the Supreme Court,” said Thomas Goldstein, a top appellate attorney and SCOTUSblog.com publisher.

“But they should be thinking about presidential court appointments, because they’ll make a big difference in the future of the law. You think about things like same-sex marriage, affirmative action, voting rights — all of these are issues that have very different ideological components to them, and the more conservative justices definitely have a different view,” he said

Vacancies and appointments get a lot of media play.

Should one of the senior Justices retire before the election, watch out-the lid could blow!

  2. Romney takes a swipe at Letterman in the secret 47 Percent VIDEO:

Sounds like Mitt Romney’s secretly taped comments have also landed him in some hot water with TV talk-show hosts.

In that video where Romney is heard saying 47% of Americans are dependent on the government, he also told donors that David Letterman “hates” him because he’s been a guest on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show.

A word to the wise for candidates running for for high profile offices: don’t discriminate! If you go on one late night show, be prepared to go to all of them.

Otherwise, you will become fodder for the media.

  3. On “Meet The Press,” conservative faith leader Ralph Reed, who has organized an aggressive new media support effort for Mitt Romney, virtually conceded that it may be hard for Romney to best Barack Obama in the debates:

GREGORY: So, Obama is beating Romney? Romney is not beating himself, is that your– your point?

REED: Yeah, well, no, what I’m– what I’m saying is any time a challenger has to clear the bar of credibility to sit behind that desk and make those decisions, historically, David, challengers close late.
